This is a walkthrough to provide tips and advice on defeating the boss Josey.
Disco's Dead[]
Disco's Dead is an achievement to signify to the player the boss Josey has been defeated. Like other bosses, Josey's strategies will adapt in order to create difficulty towards the player. This achievement is available in any difficulty.
Phase 1[]
Josey will suddenly be seen riding on a Mini UFO. Many of his attacks are simple to evade, and Josey vulnerable to any of the player's attack. At times Josey will UFO Surf and if the player fails to evade this, they will enter a memorized minigame where they must evade Josey's attacks. The player can attack Josey with the simple use of the Chainsaw Blaster and if close enough, the player can use the Chainsaw. Although, there is an event where the player must use stairs and is forced to use the Chainsaw Blaster.
Phase 2[]
As Juliet reaches Josey's Large UFO, the player can see five blue eletrical bolts on the ship. The player must quickly destroy the bolts before the time limit is reached. The player must be wary and time considerate during this phase, as the electrical bolts will defend itself when it begins to glow red, as well as the sudden abundance of Mini-Joseys. Once all are destroyed, the player must quickly move forward to the middle of Josey and begin to slice his dome.
Finishing Strikes[]
Once weakened the player will be given the open option to defeat him. Even though the player may have weakened him with the Chainsaw Blaster, an animation will play forcing the player to commit a finishing strike. At his last phase, the player must quickly destroy his dome defeating him and ending the boss fight.
Critical UFO Finish[]
Critical UFO Finish is an achievement to signify to the player that they have managed to succeed in defeating Josey during the last 10 seconds of the second phase. This achievement can only be accomplished in Phase 2 and can be done in any difficulty.
Phase 1[]
This phase will not affect the achievement.
Phase 2[]
The player must first destroy as many electrical bolts as they can, while battling a time limit. If the player manages to destroy all before the finishing 10 seconds, they must first wait, until that many seconds are left. The player must quickly go towards Josey's dome and destroy his UFO.
Finishing Strikes[]
The player must quickly go towards Josey's dome and destroy his UFO during the last phase.
