The Maelstrom Spin is one of the combat moves in the game Lollipop Chainsaw, unlockable by purchasing it in the Chop2Shop.zom store for 150 gold medals.
This move has Juliet do a series of low, circular chainsaw spins while moving forward, covering a very large area, followed by a rising chainsaw strike.
Performance and Usefulness[]
It is performed with the button combination A,X,X,X (On Xbox360) or, X, Square, Square, Square (On PS3).
A very useful move, Maelstrom Spin has several applications. As there are multiple sections of the game where Juliet encounters large numbers of legless zombies, this combo deals enough damage and covers such a large area that Sparkle Hunting combos are practically guaranteed if the enemies are first condensed. It also is one of the safest options for defeating more than one crawling zombie at a time.
In addition, this is a great move to use to enter into a large group of weakened/groggy zombies, as every strike of the combo has a possibility of netting a Sparkle Hunting combo, resulting in repeated payouts.
That being said, while the distance and number of attacks give this combo extremely wide strike range as a whole, the individual strikes have somewhat smaller range, meaning this move will likely, in the best scenarios, accrue several smaller Sparkle Hunting combos, as opposed to a single large one. Nonetheless, it is a ubiquitous and reliable attack.
